Connect SharePoint

Connect Microsoft SharePoint once, then use it as the delivery destination for any of your upload forms. Files uploaded through a form route to the SharePoint site you connect here. SharePoint is supported on all plans.

EZ File Drop connects to cloud-hosted SharePoint (SharePoint Online in Microsoft 365). On-premises SharePoint Server installations are not supported.

You connect SharePoint from Cloud Connections, not from inside a form. After it's connected, it becomes available as a destination every time you build or edit a form.

Connect SharePoint

  1. In the left sidebar, click Cloud Connections.
  2. Choose SharePoint. OneDrive and SharePoint share one option in the list. The first time you connect, the cloud provider options appear right on the Cloud Connections page. If you already have an account connected, click Connect new cloud account at the top right first, then choose it from the dialog that opens.

  1. A Microsoft window opens. Enter the email, phone, or Skype for the Microsoft account that has access to the SharePoint site you want to use, then click Next and finish signing in.

  1. Review the permissions and click Accept. Microsoft asks to let EZ File Drop maintain access to the data you grant it, read your profile, and access your files.

  1. Microsoft returns you to Cloud Connections, where the connection now appears under Your Connections. OneDrive and SharePoint use the same Microsoft sign-in, so the connection covers both.

If your organization blocks the connection

Some Microsoft 365 organizations require an administrator to approve third-party apps before anyone can connect them. If you see a message that an admin needs to grant approval, or the connection is blocked, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator and ask them to approve EZ File Drop. Once they approve it, repeat the steps above.

What EZ File Drop can access

When you connect, Microsoft asks you to approve access to your files, including full access to files you can reach. This access looks broad because you can point a form at any SharePoint location you can reach as its destination, and EZ File Drop needs permission to write files there. EZ File Drop uses that permission only to deliver uploads: it writes the files people send through your forms, and it creates subfolders when a form organizes files. It also reads your profile to set up the connection. It does not read or browse the files already stored in your SharePoint site. When a form delivers a file, that file is placed in the location you chose and removed from EZ File Drop automatically after delivery.

Use the connection on a form

A connected destination isn't tied to any single form. Open any form's Build tab and choose your SharePoint site as the destination. The same connection can be the destination for as many forms as you like.

To deliver to a personal OneDrive instead, see Connect OneDrive. To connect more than one account, see Connect multiple cloud accounts.
